I was going to make a long, significant post about how I haven't been feeling very well lately, how I'm unhappy with the way I'm leading my live, how I'm hiding behind simple and mindless routine, how I'm constantly tired regardless of the time I actually sleep, and what I'm pondering to do about it.
Instead, I am going to brag with my WoW character.
Note that in addition to that, I own another whole backpack's worth of fire resistance and situational gear that is currently in the bank due to space issues. =P

Yes yes, I update this way too rarely. There just isn't that much to tell. Maybe except the last two Sundays, so let me recap those for you. "Last two" meaning the 19th and 26th of February.
( Sleeping By The Fire )
In any case, I am now officially on holiday, and that can only mean good things!
And on a side note, my Pern acquaintances might find this interesting: Ursula K. Le Guin, author of the Earthsea Cycle (a well-known fantasy series), who had previously rejected all offers to turn her writing into a feature-length film, was apparently talked into it by no other than Hayao Miyazaki, aging "Master of Anime" himself, at a premiere of his latest movie, Howl's Moving Castle. Thus, 'Tales From Earthsea' will be Studio Ghibli's next project, directed by son Goro Miyazaki. While I have never read the books, I heard a lot of good things, and I absolutely adore Miyazaki's productions... it can only turn out good. And, it seems to involve dragons!

Well, as seth_turtle noticed corectly, I haven't posted in one and a half months! Well then, because I was so terribly amused at the wording of the automated message he somehow made LiveJournal send me, I shall post!
...
...
About what, though. Hmmm. I guess I could start with a little life update.

Did you know that, if you take a number of cars weighing 1 ton and drive them with 100 km/h through an aperture that's roughly 10^(-38) meters wide, they will exhibit wave-like behavior and experience diffraction into areas of varying probability density of arrival?
Just think about the implications of that!

Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
In April I pushed kwolfhard in the mud (-17 points). In March I bought porn for kitrona (10 points). In April I set peppygrowlithe's puppy on fire (-66 points). Last Thursday I gave socksofjello a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). Last month I had a shoot-out with rival gang lords on the 5 near LA (-76 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-99 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!
Sincerely, streetwind |
But but but... I've been trying so hard... o.o;;;

While I have a minute of spare time.
-Really bad cold over the weekend. Amplified by father by making me stand in the ice rain for 120 minutes straight so he could eventually get 300 liters of mountain well water that he alone in our family deems as absolutely necessary for his personal well-being, and he alone consumes.
-Lab work stressy. Physical chemistry stressy. Busybusybusy. I hate quantum mechanics.
- gullwhacker's Sunday FFRPG campaign sessions rox my sox. Glad I changed characters. So what if it's an underaged bard? My character is dressed twice as good as all of you others together, and not afraid to rub your noses in it! =P
-WoW raiding guild gnawing on Nefarian's ankle. Busybusybusy. My equipment owns. Warriors with owning equipment own too. Thunderfury 95% complete. Drop your damn Binding, Geddon!
-First snow of the season, the weekend before this last one. Up to 14 inches in our area. Has since disappeared.
-Exams start by the end of next week. Busybusybusy. Organics should be easy though.
Wooops, time's up. *runs*

You know that you haven't paid attention to LJ for too long when... you need to page back 100 entries on your friends list. Gah. I hope nobody who secretly hoped for a comment or answer of mine is disappointed now. Always assuming, of course, that there actually are such people. ;)
But I didn't feel like checking LJ. I don't think I've checked my email in a similar timeframe either. I just... had so much other things going on. You know how this goes, when you're really exhausted, and should technically be doing one more thing, something incredibly simple... and you say to yourself, 'not right now', even if you'd enjoy doing it? Yep, that's me. Like, every day. And that has nothing to do with procrastination, but simply with myself wanting to just shut down like a Win98 machine that's been forced to run for a week straight, lest it crashes horribly. A simple unwillingness to keep up with daily routine. I swear, peppygrowlithe won't be the only one to sleep straight through christmas break!
Weird how at the same time, I fall into a repetitive rant when given the chance to. =P
So no, I'm not ignoring anyone on purpose.

At the beginning of this smester, I was pleasantly surprised how few lectures I had. I mean, I study by personal choice, and am interested in learning more, but there's a limit on the daily intake capability of my lazy brain. Especially when it comes to such topics as Physical Chemistry, which unfortunately has persisted on my schedule. ;>.>
But geez, they're some intense lectures! And the lab work even more so. Every single task is tedious and complex, taking up to two weeks of time. There's just so much to do... and with the unlucky setup of lectures that are all in the earliest possible slot and the lab work being in the latest possible slot, I feel pretty drained on weekends. I just about slept through the whole of Saturday, for example. Got in bed at 23:30 on Friday, slept until past 13:00, felt headachey around 15:00 and slept again until past 18:30. I guess it was okay since it allowed me to stay up and help with Southern's hatching on SouCon, but it kinda feels like I missed a day. A week with six days... where is my time going?! x_X
On the topic of MUSHing, though...
( SouCon ponderings. Long. Skip forward to the bottom two paragraphs for what actually matters, the rest is a review of the passed year. )
Yep, that's my schedule for you. One lecture, then nothing for some hours, then lab. Lots of idle time makes me spout lots and lots of more or less significant words. =P

Now that university has begun again, and there's stuff to be bored about and procrastinate on, I'll need this thing again. ^_^;
*dusts the journal off*
( Schedule! )
Yep, it's gonna be busy.
Lab work is especially annoying this semester. Most of the experiments we're supposed to do are things so simple that a first semester student could do them right within the first week. However, the setup requires us to spend three full days doing nothing but trying to get a porcelain (?) filter (which we aren't provided with) to temperature-idependent constant weight to the fourth digit after the comma (in grams!) by roasting it in the oven at 900 degrees celsius. Damn gravimetrics. And we're supposed to do 15 experiments in a little over 3 weeks. Luckily we get to work on up to three things at once, else I'd be going insane right here. And it hasn't even been a week yet. Yay.
Also, no study session today. It's 10:30, but I can't go home because I have a maths exam at 17:15, and I'd have to go by public transportation which would equal between four to five hours of wasted time to get home and later back here. I.e., the entire time span that I have left. I guess I'll just go study. Maybe I'll make another entry in a few hours, just to procrastinate a bit...

This one is very amusing, because it attests me personality traits that weren't even asked about... with surprising accuracy, too.

But why do I find this so terribly, terribly funny? XD

| You scored as Method Actor. You think that gaming is a form of creative expression. You may view rules as, at best, a necessary evil, preferring sessions where the dice never come out of the bag. You enjoy situations that test or deepen your character's personality traits.

I thought that a few other traits, for example tactician, would rank higher. But oh well, it works. Yay for roleplaying!

Haven't been feeling all too well in the last day or two. Physically, I mean. Nose has been runny, and I'm pretty sure it's not allergy. But it's not developing into a cold either. It's just moping around and making me constantly blow my nose and ruining my concentration.

Doing this because I must. It is written.
1. Reply with your name and I'll respond with something random about you. 2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you. 3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in. 4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me. 5. I'll tell you my first memory of you. 6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of. 7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you. 8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal. You MUST. It is written.
I was originally going to put a "snatched from [person]" thing too, but I realized that about 90% of my friends list has posted it by now, and I didn't want to fill a quarter page with names. ;)

Wheeee, it's been chaotic. In the past two weeks, I've done my very best to forget everything I've learned over the whole semester. Well, not really, but pretending that I could just laze around for the rest of my life is one of my favorite pastimes. =D
Things I've done: -Played way too much WoW. -Fought Ragnaros down to 66% in the aforementioned game. Damn he hurtses us. -Killed Onyxia and got myself a Helm of Wrath in the aforementioned game. Damn that rocks. -Spent a weekend with a group of friends and sister celebrating said sister's return from university semester by watching demented Disney comedies. Yikes that was a trip... ;) -Spent the other weekend on a LAN party with friends and the subsequent recovery of lost sleep. We played Counterstrike (got boring quickly), Dawn of War (can't go wrong with explosions), Mashed (we almost died laughing), Counterstrike 2D (this was when half of the participants where too drunk to play anything serious), and something else that I forgot. -Made a 6th level Cleric with War and Destruction domains to crawl a D&D dungon with some IRC buddies. Go go dwarven waraxe! -Dusted off my poor SouCon character Serena and had a scene or two. Poor girl. Poor Cibryth. Neglected them for so long. Not easy getting back in after this time, but judging from the MUSH rumors, there's a huge bucket of great things going on. -Procrastinated successfully on writing up many descs for Serena. I think I at least got a normal outfit now... ^__^;; I'm beyond help, I know. -Procrastinated successfully on reading (and updating) this poor journal to the point where I had to page 60+ entries back on more than one occasion. Ack, why do you people write so much? -Gotten myself into posting a question/answer meme that involves wrestling the particpants in jello. What was I smoking? ;) But first I shall wait for getting a reply myself. -Somehow broke my computer by installing new graphics drivers. I now get random crashes from games using Direct3D, after which I have to reboot because the system clais to not have any drivers installed anymore. Annoys me greatly. Will likely return back to the old drivers. -At least two other things that I forget.
Holidays are great, aren't they? =)
